In the world of Australian sports, few figures command the respect and attention that Barry Hall does. From his illustrious career in the AFL to his transition into the boxing ring, Hall’s journey has been defined by grit, determination, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Now, as he prepares to face off against NRL convert Curtis Scott, July 10th is set for a clash that promises fireworks.

Fidel Turkel, Hall’s seasoned trainer, has been instrumental in preparing the veteran for this pivotal matchup. "There's a killer in him," Turkel remarked, alluding to Hall's fierce competitiveness and unwavering focus. "He's a good guy, really nice person, really nice with his family. But on the day, I've seen this killer creep out. This guy was that killer on the field when he played AFL, and I'm starting to see this now."

Turkel’s observations underscored Hall's transformation when he steps into the ring—a transformation from a charismatic athlete to a formidable opponent with a singular focus on victory. "The confidence is growing, the physicality is growing," Turkel noted. "He's a good 106kg, he's probably 10 kilos heavier than when he fought Sonny. There's a big difference there. 10 kilos in boxing of muscle. This guy ain't fat. He looks like he's 21 years old."

Despite Scott's burgeoning reputation and recent success in the ring, Turkel remained steadfast in his belief that Hall's experience and refined boxing skills would prevail. "We’ve planned for a better Curtis than what he is," Turkel affirmed. "And on the day, we're going to show boxing skills gonna prevail over a guy that's doing well for himself, but just a fighter. Barry’s not a fighter. Barry's a boxer."

Reflecting on Hall’s previous bouts against other cross-code opponents such as Sonny Bill Williams and Paul Gallen, Turkel emphasized Hall’s ability to adapt and grow as a boxer. "You name me a fighter in Australia, doesn't matter who it is, what Olympic level they are that's gone into their first two fights and fought a guy that was eight and zero and fought a guy that was nine and zero," Turkel challenged. "Barry does not take anything lightly. He takes on the biggest challenges."

It's Big Bad Barry Hall and Curtis Scott in a cross-code fight you certainly cannot miss on July 10th.
