World-class boxing is officially coming to Far North Queensland, with tickets now on sale for No Limit Boxing’s massive fight night set for Wednesday, 25 June at the Cairns Convention Centre.

Headlined by former world champion Liam Paro and two-time world title challenger Liam Wilson, the event marks one of the biggest fight nights ever staged in regional Australia. The stacked card also features Olympian Callum Peters and rising Queensland star Kirra Ruston, along with a host of emerging talent.

Proudly supported by the Queensland Government, the event represents a major sporting moment for Cairns and the Far North.

“This is the biggest fight card we’ve ever brought this far north – and it’s going to be an unforgettable night for Queensland boxing,” said No Limit Boxing CEO George Rose.

“We’ve had the privilege of taking boxing all across the country, but this one is really special. To have Liam Paro – a former world champion from Mackay – and Liam Wilson, who’s been on the world stage, fighting at home together in front of a packed Cairns crowd is something we’ve been working toward for a long time.

“We’re bringing a truly world-class event to Cairns, and we’re just getting started. If you love live sport, you need to be there.”

Tickets are on presale now via Ticketek, with general public access available from 12:00pm today.

Queensland Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tim Mander, said the Government was proud to support events that inspire and elevate regional communities.

“It’s fantastic to see an elite sporting outfit like No Limit Boxing bring such a high-profile event to Far North Queensland,” Minister Mander said.

“This is about more than just entertainment, it’s about economic opportunity, tourism, and creating positive pathways for young people in our regions.”

“Events like this inspire kids in places like Cairns and Mackay to dream big, work hard, and believe that they too can reach the top.”

“As we head toward Brisbane 2032, our goal is to increase participation, grow regional investment, and leave a legacy of opportunity. This event is a great example of that vision in action.”

For Liam Paro, who was born and raised in Mackay and spent years fighting abroad, this will be a true homecoming.

“I’ve been chasing fights all over the world – USA, Puerto Rico, the UK – but nothing beats fighting at home in Queensland,” Paro said.

“I never got the chance to defend my world title back here, but now I’ve got the opportunity to put on a show in front of my people, and I plan to deliver something special.

“This division is wide open, and I know I belong at the very top. My focus is on winning another world title and bringing the biggest fights in the world right here to Australia. June 25 is the first step.”

Liam Wilson, who has twice fought for world titles overseas, said he was excited to be part of such a historic night.

“It means a lot to be fighting back in Queensland, especially on a card like this,” Wilson said.

“I’ve gone to war with some of the best fighters on the planet, and I’ve learned from every round. This is my chance to show how far I’ve come – and that I’m still one of the top contenders in the world.

“The support from the fans in Queensland has always pushed me forward. To have a crowd like this behind me, in Cairns, on a card this stacked – I’m more motivated than ever to make a statement and get myself back into world title contention.”
